An inside look at the AgSource Harris laboratories

AgSource Harris’ state-of-the-art facilities provide a wide range of services dedicated to agriculture—including soil testing, irrigation-water testing, herbicide-residue testing and media testing.

Phosphates are measured with an automated photometer. Data is automatically sent from the instrument to the computer, a part of the technology allowing you to view your results online. AgSource Harris has the ability and capacity to handle and process samples in a speedy manner—in fact, all sample analyses are completed in less than three laboratory days.
Soil samples are extracted with the proper extraction solutions and placed in an autosampler, where the samples are sequentially processed.
All soil samples have to be dried to a consistent moisture content before grinding. The first 12 hours of turnaround time is in the dryer.
Data is transposed from your information input sheet, including your client name, unique identification, crop type and testing package.
All instruments are fully automatic, and with proper setup, instruments will operate by themselves, informing the technician when a run is finished or if a quality control failure occurred—providing you with unsurpassed accuracy.

The laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation; pictured are two ICPs capable of measuring any inorganic element on the chemical periodic table.
